Held at Gemax Auditorium in JSW Township at Toranagallu,event marked launch of Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana. Annapurna pointed to Sandur's geographic challenges — hills and little farmable land . Urged JSW to focus on creating jobs and secure livelihoods for locals.
Health woes near industrial zones also on her radar. Residents suffer from pollution-linked health issues. Annapurna urged JSW to tackle these risks, suggesting a free hospital for mine workers and vulnerable groups in the taluk.
She described JSW as key to Sandur’s identity,noting its role in regional growth through CSR efforts. Hopes industries keep expanding to create jobs for youth.
At event,K.V . Praveen,EPFO Regional Commissioner,explained new employment scheme for first-time workers. Said 1,374 in Ballari qualified for direct aid. Scheme helps both workers and employers,with 248 local businesses already participating.
Praveen noted initiative should boost formal jobs in area. Attendees watched PM Modi distribute benefits to new workers during a live broadcast from Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
Certificates for incentive benefits handed out to those who opened EPFO accounts . Event saw attendance from Tahsildar Vishwajit Mehta,senior EPFO officials, JSW reps,and employer groups.
