Exhibition celebrating 100 years of TASS Photo Service now open at Moscow's State Historical Museum. Showcases iconic images from past century's major events. Runs until August 31, 2026.
Sergey Shakhidzhanyan, head of TASS's photo news department, curated display. Includes photos from museum's collection and TASS photojournalists. Veteran photojournalist Valery Khristoforov contributed rare equipment from his collection,giving historical depth.
At opening,Andrey Kondrashov, TASS Director General, emphasized agency's archives,holding over 73 million images. He stated,"Amid attempts to twist,alter,or distort history,TASS Photo Service stands as shield against distortion." Each photo slice of time,captured by a photojournalist .
Exhibition also showcases technological evolution of photojournalism. Visitors can view video presentations on cameras used by TASS photographers and their techniques. Shvabe Holding,part of Rostec State Corporation,expressed pride in its role,noting Krasnogorsk Plant cameras have documented key moments.
