Probe began after woman in her 60s,known only as Li,spent 700,000 yuan (US$104,000) at centre . She was coaxed into buying pricey treatments,each costing tens of thousands of yuan. Clinic preyed on her vulnerability,convincing her she needed these to detox.
As Li's funds dried up,staff allegedly urged her to pawn her gold bracelet,claiming if health couldn't be restored,she didn't need money . Shows predatory nature of operation . Exploited loneliness,desperation of elderly clients.
